Red Maple Brandywine
Acer rubrum ‘Brandywine’
An amazing shade tree with fantastic color is the American Red Maple. Early in the spring, before the green leaves with crimson undertones appear, tiny scarlet blooms steal the spotlight. These maples have solid green leaves that grow into a striking scarlet red in the fall. This resilient red maple is versatile and cold-hardy. Once it has been established, it can withstand moist soil and is drought-tolerant. Due to its strong tolerance for air pollution, this magnificent tree is a great choice for a street tree.
