Pink Chaos Coleus

Neon lights are so bright! Move over Las Vegas lights and say hello to Pink Chaos Coleus. Also known as Solenostemon scutellarioides, this coleus has a diverse and unique color palette. Pink Chaos Coleus displays a fiery pink dragon’s tongue pattern outlined in green, red, and white hues all over its leaves. This particular coleus forms a dense, upright habit reaching 6 to 18 inches in height and grows 10 to 16 inches in spread. Expect foliage interest all Spring and Summer outdoors and it works great as a houseplant the rest of the seasons. This coleus is a unique beauty. It is native to the tropical climate of Malaysia, so it thrives in hot conditions. It is admired for its vibrant foliage that is especially unappetizing to deer. Coleus is a mint family relative and similarly has notable vigor and tenacity that is quite remarkable. Plant this gem as a thriller in combination containers or use numerous plants to illuminate a shady garden landscape. Pink Chaos Coleus Care Versatile and vigorous, this coleus prefers part sun to full shade conditions. The more sun the less vibrant the leaf color becomes. It is not picky, requiring well-draining soil and it has average watering needs. Trim this plant back and cut back flower spikes to promote more foliage. Apply fertilizer or compost annually to garden beds and apply a regular fertilizing regime for container plants. Coleus is a tender perennial in zones 10 to 11, but for more of the temperate zones, coleus is an annual. If left outside to overwinter, frost would be detrimental to this plant. To overcome this concern, overwinter Coleus as an indoor houseplant and enjoy it all Winter long. Pink Chaos Coleus Spacing Give Coleus ample room and space to grow. We recommend a 12 inch or larger pot when growing this plant in a container. Give this plant at least 8 to 12 inches of space when planting in any landscape site or container for best results.Pink Chaos Coleus InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 10-11 Flower Color(s): Grown for Foliage Foliage Color(s) Green, Pink, Red Foliage Description: Multicolored Light Exposure: Full Shade to Partial Shade Height Class: Short Height: 6-18 Inches Spread: 10-16 Inches Spacing: 8-12 Inches Habit: Mounded Watering: Average Drought Tolerant: No Attracts: Birds, Hummingbirds Resists: Deer Container Role: Filler Use Types: Container, Houseplant, Landscape Features: Foliage Interest, Deadheading Not Necessary, Pollinator Attractor Maintenance: Easy Scientific Name: Solenostemon scutellarioides ‘Pink Chaos’ Common Name: Pink Chaos Coleus Other Name(s): Plant Type: Annual Brand: Proven Selections
