Nellie R. Stevens Holly
Nellie R. Stevens Holly is one of the most popular evergreen hollies for privacy screens and formal landscapes. It grows in a dense, pyramidal shape with deep green, glossy foliage and bright red berries that attract birds in winter.
This vigorous holly is drought-tolerant once established and can grow up to 3 feet per year, making it a favorite for creating fast privacy barriers or elegant evergreen backdrops.
- Dense, glossy green foliage year-round
- Red berries appear in fall and last into winter
- Mature Size: 15–25 ft. tall, 8–15 ft. wide
- ️ Great for privacy screens, hedges, or accents
- Berries attract birds and other wildlife
- Thrives in full sun to partial shade
Note: Nellie R. Stevens is a female variety that can produce berries without a pollinator, though a male holly like ‘Edward J. Stevens’ will enhance berry production.
