Zone 4 – France. early 18th century – Semi-dwarf rootstock
Cider
Mid-season
An old French cultivar still valued for producing high-quality cider, Muscadet de Dieppe is an early-ripening apple with greenish-yellow skin, an orange blush, and light striping. The small to medium fruit is grown specifically for its aromatic, bittersweet juice rather than fresh eating. The tree has a vigorous, upright habit, shows good hardiness to Zone 4, and may drop fruit early during dry summers.
