Hosta ‘Guacamole’ Plantain Lily
‘Guacamole’ brings bold color and tropical flair to shade gardens with its vibrant chartreuse centers bordered by dark green margins. This hosta forms a robust mound of foliage that lights up shady areas and pairs beautifully with ferns, heucheras, and astilbes.
In late summer, it produces large, trumpet-shaped, fragrant white to pale lavender blooms that are attractive to pollinators. Excellent as a border plant or groundcover in moist, well-drained soils.
- Striking variegated foliage with green margins and lime centers
- Fragrant, pale lavender-white flowers in late summer
- Hardy, fast-growing, and deer-tolerant
- Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded beds, or containers
- Thrives in consistent moisture but tolerates dry shade once established
Design Tip: Use ‘Guacamole’ to brighten dark corners and highlight darker-leaved shade plants for visual contrast.
