Taylor Eastern Redcedar
Juniperus virginiana ‘Taylor’
A tall, slender cultivar tree belonging to the Cupressaceae (cypress) family is the Taylor Eastern red cedar. This tree has lovely blue-green leaves and will reach heights of 20 to 25 feet and a width of 3 to 4 feet. The Taylor cedar tree is tolerant of unfavorable environments in full to partial sun. Wet soil is the only thing it won’t tolerate. Avoid overfertilizing this tree and grow it in humus-rich soil. It can withstand drought, deer, and unfavorable soil conditions. Use as a screen, at entrances, along a driveway, or as an accent.
